Pastor Willie Adams, Jr. and Sis Shelia Dianne Adams are two U.S. Army Retirees with 54 years of service between them both. Pastor Adams was enlisted as Military Police and served 22 years retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant (MSG/E8) in 2008. Pastor Adams has a BS in Biblical Studies and Biblical Counseling from College of Biblical Studies. Sis Adams was enlisted as a Medical Laboratory Specialist and served 32 years retiring at the rank of Command Sergeant Major (CSM/E9) in 2016. Sis Adams has an MBA in Organizational Leadership from Northcentral University.
Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, this couple chose to retire and leave their present positions of leading soldiers in Uncle Sam’s Army – to become Christian soldiers and leaders in God’s Army. MSG Willie Adams, Jr. (at the time) saw that his father (the late, Emeritus Pastor Willie Adams, Sr.) was getting older and feeble. So, he retired (eight whole years before his wife Shelia retired) to come home and help his parents - and to enjoy life with them! But little did the retired soldier know that in a short span of five years, God would bless him to purchase a home (way out on an acreage of land – all by himself). And in the ‘alone time’ God would begin to spiritually and speedily grow him and increase his faith. Shelia would come home on leave to visit her husband and she said, “I immediately began to see a change in my husband. It was instant and consistent - and I knew God was working on him. And I felt the Lord preparing and changing ‘me’ as well to do the work of a good soldier.”
Jesus Christ moved on retired MSG Willie Adams’ heart and called him to preach. He accepted his calling and was ordained. The late Emeritus Pastor, Willie Adams, Sr. passed the baton to his son, and at the installation service, he charged Pastor Willie Adams, Jr. “to do greater works”. Today, Pastor Adams is a member of the Houston Baptist Ministers Association where he serves as Parliamentarian. He is also a member of the South Texas District Association (STDA) serving as 2nd Vice President of Congress and Advisor to STDA Bible Band Auxiliary.
